Oftentimes a band will acknowledge the crowd, thank them for coming and leave it at that. The sold-out crowd for Candlebox got so much more. The band was gracious in their appreciation and their interaction with their fans was over and above.
I had never experienced this band prior to Saturday night at the Whiskey Roadhouse, but it won’t be the last time. This Seattle based band rocked the house from the minute they arrived on stage until the last drumbeat faded away. It was solid rock and roll and it’s easy to understand why they’ve toured with bands such as Rush, Aerosmith and Metallica.
Crowd play, interaction, acknowledgement and sing along, is all part of the shtick, but it never takes away from the talent of these musicians. In fact, it enhances their performance. They are crowd pleasers in multiple ways. I couldn’t tell you the name of one song played, but I can tell you everyone around me for the nearly two hour performance did. I think I better do some research…I wanna be the one singing along with the band the next time they come around.
