Billy Frogg's Lavista, known for good times, great drinks, and amazing cheeseburgers, can now be known for much more: a versatile collection of delicious foods. In one trip to the establishment, we were lucky enough to enjoy just a fraction of what they offer.
The banquet began and could have easily ended with a mountain of Super Nachos. The Super Nachos feature fresh, hand made chips that are smothered in a homeade beef and bean mixture, cheese, jalapenos, green onions, black olives, and tomatoes, and come with a side of sour cream. For only $6.95, this could easily be a meal.
The next course were the French Onion and Chicken Tortilla soups. Each priced at $4.25, these soups are the perfect beginning to any meal. The French Onion soup is classically done and will warm you up on the coldest day. The Chicken Tortilla soup offered a cheesy sauce, chili peppers, and overall amazing taste that managed to capture the taste of an authentic chicken enchilada.
To follow up those appetizers, we were given large portions of the Chicken Fried Steak, one of Chef Kaye Simpson's personal favorites. The price of this main course could easily be over $10, but for only $6.95, we were treated with a huge Chicken Fried Steak, sides of mashed potatoes and gravy and corn, and a breadstick. The Chicken Fried Steak itself was delicious. The sides complimented the steak perfectly and provided an optional dipping side for those that like to combine food.
What's better after a Chicken Fried Steak meal than a half-pound Bacon Cheeseburger? Nothing that I can think of. The burger featured fresh, thick strips of bacon and cheese on a fresh, toasted bun. The burger is priced at $7.75 and comes with an order of fries. This burger far exceeds the high expectations set for it.
We were lucky enough to conclude our meal with a brand new desert item, the Froggy Delight, which is available exclusively to the Billy Frogg's Lavista location. The Froggy consists of those same handmade tortilla chips from the Super Nachos, only this time smothered in cinnamon. Topping them are multiple scoops of smooth, vanilla ice cream and caramel. The Froggy Delight is $3.50 and available only at the Lavista Location.
