The opera Brundibar was created by Hans Krasa and Adolf Hoffmeister. This heartwarming story evolves around a brother and sister who are trying to care for their sick mother. The children soon encount the town bully Brundibar, who leaves the children feeling scared and dejected. With aid of a sparrow, dog, and cat, the group mobilizes the town's children and together they triumph over Brundibar.
In addition to the performance, there will be a special guest appearance by original cast member and Holocaust survivor, Ela Weissberger. Weissberger will also give a pre-performance talk.
The show will begin at 6:30 pm on 11/7 at the Rose Theater.
